They're Definitely More Damaged Right Now
Hey, I didn't say it...
"The big shows with mass appeal tend to have above-average scores from Democrats and Republicans but with higher concentrations of Republicans," says John Fetto, senior marketing manager at Experian Simmons. "Looking at the Democrats' side, I don't mean to make light of it, but they seem to like shows about damaged people. Those are the kind of shows Republicans just stay away from."I can't say I'm really shocked by either list -- the GOP list of top shows reads like the stuff at the top of the ratings, while the stuff at the top of the Democrats' list is generally critically acclaimed (often by critics who are Democrats). I don't know that either list is better than the other -- people have different tastes. However, some of the choices on the Dem list show an appalling lack of taste; Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami and the new 90210 may not exist for any reason other than to make people more stupid. To be fair and balanced, I have no earthly clue why anyone would watch "The Bachelor" (which is somehow popular among Republicans) other than for the opportunity to mock the people on the show.
